I started writing this yesterday and by that I mean I opened up word press for the first time in almost a month and wrote the word focus as a title and then continued to do every other thing minus right a blog post.  Yesterday I went for a job interview and it got me to thinking.  I will hear back about the job on thursday.  When I hear back I will relate the news but if I think about the interview I start to nit pick everything. So anyway, not thinking about it.  Monday I started a living social deal I bought for one month of unlimited yoga at Yoga Fox.  So far I have done 5 classes in 4 days and am really enjoying “traditional” yoga.  Because of the interview I did not get to do yoga yesterday so today I took two classes a general flow class which was an hour and a half and a lunch power hour class.  There was a 30 minute break so I check to make sure I had no important email, none, and had a power bar.  After that I went and ordered our wedding bands!  I am so excited they will be here in 2-3 weeks.

After all that I got home and it was already 2:00pm and I was pretty hungry.  So I made a green monster and had some pretzels, peanuts and raisins on the side.

and my first smoothie in a bowl!  i liked it.  the green monster included, spinach, soy vanilla protein powder, water, ice, banana and mango.  it was very good.

I had a portrait lens which is great for photographing people but really hard for still lives since I had to be on the other side of the kitchen to get anything in focus but I was to hungry to waste time chanting lenses so that is that.

So what was I saying about focus?  I find that I start something get distracted and then move on to something else and while sometimes that is necessary, like when firefox will not stop freezing other times it leads me to meander through my days.  I love schedules but it is hard to schedule a day when a big part of my day is answering the phone and replying to emails.

as most of you know i work from home and for myself which creates a interesting schedule.  i love it because it gives me the freedom to give to the gym at 11:00 am or 3:00 pm and to cook my lunch and make dinner before 8:00 pm.  this past 6 weeks has been a lot of travel, for me, two out of state trips about a week.  i am just settling into my old schedule which feels nice.

i decided to run outside because it was cloudy so i would not have to fight to much with the sun and i am having a hard time finding a slow enough speed to run at on the treadmill.  i went outside and ran an easy 3 miles at about 14 minutes a mile.  as soon as i walked into our complexes gate i started to hear thunder.  i got back dry but as i was making my smoothie it started to down poor though the sun decided it come out as well.  nice and bright and stormy.

since it has been very hot i have had major craving for smoothies.  i also added some spinach.

it was yummy the whey protein is chocolate flavored which is fine but gets a little yuck 3/4 of the way through.  I am trying to get through this before i buy another because it does take us a while to eat this much protein powder and they are not cheap.

tried to sneak outside to get some ok shoots of the crazy florida rain.

totally got soaked.

I am not sure how i thought this week was going to go but no workouts have gotten done.  We did do a little biking on sunday but not much more then 4 miles because it was just to get breakfast and come back.  But my goal was to make a schedule not to stick to it so I am ok with it.  I mean sticking with it is the point of the schedule but I knew this week would be tough.

My friend Jessica, sent me this interesting article about goals and I thought it was pretty helpful and kinda what I am trying to do.  I think I could be more specific like “snack smarter” but I do not want to say have a banana everyday because I do not believe you should be held to those type of restrictions especially when it comes to food.   I do like number 5 “focus on being better, rather then being good” I feel this is where “having less down days” falls.  I know I will always have down days no matter what but trying to make them less often or maybe not whole days, just bad half days or bad hours.

I am going to go clean the kitchen and make a nice healthy lunch now.  Have a great Wednesday!

I made a schedule for june and while it does not seem like a lot it feel attainable and hopefully will lead to goal number 2. run 3 miles with vin.  we did 2 miles this morning in a little under 30 min using the run walk method.  vin has not run in a while and i had a major fail of a run yesterday so i just wanted to get to the 2 miles even if it took and hour.  well that is not true but kinda the point.  i think it went well.  i am so spoiled now.  i love running/jogging/walking with vin.  we get to talk and it goes so much faster.  totally blew 3 and 4 already.  i need to just make lunch if it is after noon not just each 4 cookies.

vin approved the schedule so i am excited.  anyone have any tips for a new running to get them to keep going even if they claim to hate every minute of it and refuse to get new shoes.

I have never been one for setting goals.  I am not sure exactly why.  I can think of a few stock obvious answers like, “hard to stick with”, “can not disappoint if you do not try” but I am not sure how much I believe those things.  Nonetheless, I was reading a few blogs like Lisa from 110 pounds and counting and Angela from Oh She Glows  and I though why not.

1. Schedule work outs for the whole month of June

2. Run 3 miles with Vinny

3. Have less days where I feel down

4. Snack smarter

5. Eat a real lunch every weekday

6. Book 2 Weddings

7. Do not stress about trips/vacations

Maybe I know why do not make goals.  I am a big list person and I really could go on for quite a while but I think this covers the mind, body, soul ( i tried to spell that soal and sole) and work aspects of my life. I will work on updating how they are going.

for memorial day weekend my friend sam and steve where at disney and we took 24 hours and visited them and low and behold…….

they got engaged!!!  well it happened the day before we got there but being the great friend I am I made them reenact it so I could take photos of course.

On monday I set out to do a smooth 3 miles.  I currently do not have any training plan except to run.  It was the afternoon and i find I am usually faster then but usually I do not have the time to run in the afternoon.  So I am running and I run 1.5 and then turn around.  This is the usual route I run and its on the side walk of a pretty busy road.  I usually jog past one or two people but there is not a ton of foot traffic.  I was listening to the Wicked soundtrack, i love musicals, but as the soundtrack goes on it kinda gets slower so I wanted something to pump me up for the last .3 miles.  I went on my ipod trying to find “Can’t Stop Believing” song by the Glee cast, I totally am just putting it all out there on this one, I swear I sometimes listen to good music, but instead of selecting that song I selected “Can’t Stop” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers which was actually a really great song to end on. I am almost done and I see this lady walking, then start running towards me and then she sticks out her hand for a high five as I pass and says something like “way to go”.  First, I do not know this lady maybe we have passed before but I am 95% sure she was not in “running gear”, but in my flight of endorphins I high fived her and continued on my way.  So yeah that was interesting.  Any one else have people randomly high five you?  Here are my times, I need to set my garmin so it does not add it up like that but that would require time, one day.

lap 1: 13:11
lap 2: 27:30
lap 3: 39:53
lap 4 cool down: 43:04

sweaty but happy

when i started to run during the day i started to notice this.  i thought it was a wicked sock tan but its more like dirt.  it reminds me of when i was a kid and i thought i would get tan at camp but then you would shower and it would go away.

i also need to get a darker colored hat.  so over humid florida and its only april.  its going to be a long summer.  well thats all the weird reveling stuff i got for now.  hope everyone has a fun and relaxing weekend!
